Ages 5–12
Care for children, at a child's pace
Younger children rarely explain what's wrong in sentences. They show it — in sleep, in tempers, in stomachaches, in silence. We meet them there, gently.
Often helpful for
Seasons children carry quietly
Big feelings
Worry, anger or sadness that shows up bigger than the moment.
Family change
A move, a separation, a new school, a new sibling.
Grief
The loss of a grandparent, a friend, or a pet.
Fear at night
Bedtime dread, bad dreams, not wanting to be alone.
Questions about God
Why does God let hard things happen to my family?
Friendship hurt
Being left out, teased, or unsure how to belong.
How sessions run
Short, warm, and never alone with a stranger
Sessions with children run 30–40 minutes. A parent is always nearby, and always briefed afterward.
Parent-first intro
We meet the parent before the child, so nothing about the first session is a surprise.
Play and story
Drawing, story and simple language do the work that adult conversation can't.
A parent debrief
After each session you receive a short note: what we noticed, and one thing to try at home.
What pastoral care is. KNOWN. offers biblical pastoral care. It is not psychotherapy, medical treatment, or licensed counseling, and it does not diagnose. Pastoral care can work alongside licensed counselors, physicians, schools, and other professionals when additional support is appropriate.
Start with a conversation about your child
The intro conversation is with you, the parent. Your child doesn't need to be ready yet.
